On our present site, there was the pin-mill own provost. In 1786 brandy was produced here. Then in 1808 the abbey was dissolved, it fell to the Prussian State, which sold the land to the former tenant Kratzenstein. From the Provost's mill has been the "Castle Mill," which was located until 1960 in the family Kratzenstein and maintained to the very beginnings of the communist era its function as a mill. The buildings were among the GDR - used their "wholesaler of fruit and vegetables" as Aufbereitungshof and interim storage. After the political changes of 1989, the wholesale warehouse was closed.
In 1997, a new building, now known as "Hotel Castle Mill."
Located at the foot of the castle hill, overlooking the Collegiate Church, outside the city walls, became a part of the old timber-framed memory of the "Castle Mill" transformed into a hotel, the corresponding historical vaulted cellar has been lovingly restored and one with the medieval backdrop integrating newly-created hotel wing lift , reception, restaurant, sauna, bar, fireside lounge with library and meeting rooms set up.
Our four-star hotel now has 71 double and single rooms in the old and new buildings. In an adjoining building of our hotel there are three one-room and three 2-room apartments.
It is said that the Quedlinburg hotel beds in general, they were the most popular in its category in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. The beds in the "Hotel Castle Mill" just do not meet this requirement, but they can also be the story of the "Provost's mill" to "Hotel Castle Mill" to tell!
